Questions about removing music
The four facts people ask about most are first. Everything else is below, by topic.
Using it
Can I remove music but keep the voice and sound effects?
Yes. Most vocal removers split audio into "vocals" and "everything else", so footsteps, doors and crowd noise go with the music. AI Music Remover keeps them apart, so effects get their own slider.
Does it work on songs with lyrics?
Mostly. Sung lyrics are the hardest case because singing sounds like a voice, so part of a chorus can stay in the Voice track. Tap "Still hear music?" for one free, deeper second pass. If the singing is the problem, try Remove vocals instead.
Which formats do you support?
Video: MP4, MOV, WEBM and MKV. Audio: MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC and OGG. You get the video back as an MP4 and the audio as MP3 or WAV.
How long can the file be?
The preview covers the first 30 seconds of any file. Free minutes cover files up to 10 minutes; paid accounts can process files up to 100 minutes and 1.5 GB (200 MB on a phone).
Can I turn the music down instead of off?
Yes. Switch the player to Sliders and drag Music to any level from 0 to 100. Around 20 to 30 keeps the song as a quiet bed under the voice. The download uses exactly the mix you set.
Why do I still hear some music?
Tap "Still hear music?" under the result. We run it once more with a deeper second pass, at no extra cost. Songs with sung lyrics are the hardest case, because singing sounds like a voice.
Minutes and billing
Is AI Music Remover free?
Yes, you can start free: the 30-second preview needs no sign-up, 3 times a day, and new accounts get 10 free minutes for full-length files. After that, plans start at $9.99 a month for 200 minutes, or a $9.99 pack of 120 minutes that never expires.
How are minutes counted?
One minute of sound in your file. Billing is by the second, so a 2:30 clip uses two and a half minutes. A file that fails to process gives its minutes back on its own.
Do the voice tools use the same minutes?
Yes, from the same balance. The Voice Changer uses 2 minutes for every started minute of your file, 2 at least. Text to Speech uses 3 minutes per 1,000 characters, 10 seconds at least. Cloning a voice is free.
Do packs expire?
No. Minutes from packs never expire. Minutes from a monthly or yearly plan refill each period and don’t roll over; plan minutes are used before pack minutes.
What does Unlimited mean?
Your first 900 minutes each month start right away, like on every plan. After them you keep going: your files run one at a time, each starting when the one before it finishes. Fair use tops out at 1,500 minutes a month, about 150 ten-minute videos. Unlimited is billed monthly and needs no top-ups.
Can I get a refund?
An unused pack, or the first payment of a plan with no minutes used, can be refunded within 14 days. Minutes spent on a finished file aren’t refunded. Duplicate charges are always put right.
How do I cancel a plan?
From Credits & billing in your account, at any time. The plan runs to the end of the period you paid for and nothing renews after that.
Privacy
What happens to my video?
It stays on your device. Only the sound is uploaded. When the music is removed, the new soundtrack goes back into your original video right on your device, so the picture never leaves it and looks exactly the same.
How long do you keep my files?
Without an account, 24 hours. On a free account, 3 days, and on a paid account, 7 days. Then they are deleted. You can delete a file yourself from My files before that.
Will YouTube still claim my video?
Usually not for the song you removed, because Content ID matches the music and the music is gone. We can’t promise it: a claim can still match a song that is sung or very loud. Listen to the result first, and only upload videos you have the rights to.
